The Will of MARY HEAD, widow of Grendon Underwood, Buckinghamshire. Proved 1806 in the Archdeaconry of Buckinghamshire

This is the last Will and Testament of me Mary Head of Grendon Underwood in the County of Bucks Widow being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding praised be to God I give to my son John Head my best bedstead and furniture feather bed bolster and pillows with the blankets & bedquilt used therewith and three pair or sheets also the table chairs bureau and cloaths press in my parlour and I give to my said son the sum of five pounds of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to him immediately after my decease, to buy him mourning, by my Executrix hereinafter named I give to each of my two daughters Ann the wife of Mr Henry Reynolds and Elizabeth the wife of Mr William Winter the legacy or sum of fifty pounds a piece of lawful money of Great Britain to be paid to them respectively within twelve months next after my decease by my executrix hereinafter named out of my personal estate I give to each of my grandsons Richard and John and to each of my grand daughters Price, Elizabeth and Charlotte children of my late daughter Mary Holt the legacy or sum of ten pounds to be paid to them respectively at their respective ages of twenty one years by my executrix hereinafter named and my will is that my executrix shall not be liable to pay interest for the last mentioned legacies before the same shall become payable and in case either or any of them my said grand children shall happen to die before the age of twenty on years then I give the legacy or legacies of him her or them so dying unto the survivors or survivor of them my said grandchildren in equal shares and proportions And finally all my household furniture not hereinbefore effectively disposed of plate linen china goods chattles cattle stock and crop money and securities for money and all other the rest residue and remainder of my personal estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature kind or quality the same may be at the time of my decease (after and subject to the payments of my funeral expenses debts and legacies) I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof unto my daughter Esther Wyatt her executors administrators and assigns And I do hereby constitute and appoint my said daughter Esther Wyatt sole executrix of this my last will and testament only. In Witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed and set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of October in the year of our Lord on thousand seven hundred and eighty nine.

6th Dec 1806 The above named executrix was sworn as usual and that the personal estate is under the value of £800 before me W Stockins Snr
